FAQ

WHAT IS CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an extract from hemp, a commonly used term for strains of the cannabis sativa plant with very low levels of THC. CBD is a naturally occurring component of the hemp plant. It is a non-intoxicating phytocannabinoid that offers a range of whole-body uses.

When consumed, CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which is made up of receptors that control a number of bodily functions. CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it allows users to reap the benefits without the feeling of being “high.” Hemp is used in a wide range of everyday products in the United States and the rest of the world.

IS CBD LEGAL?

Yes, CBD is legal in all 50 states. Thanks to the passing of Farm Bill of 2018, CBD is classified legal at the federal level. The bill removed CBD, derived from industrial hemp, from the schedule 1 substance list. The commercial cultivation and distribution of hemp is also legal. Hemp oil is legal in over 40 countries around the globe. Hemp oil is consumed by millions of people around the planet, and this number is rapidly rising as an increasing number of studies explore hemp’s numerous health benefits.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD? HOW WILL IT HELP ME?

Numerous studies have shown CBD to have various benefits. These studies have not been confirmed by the FDA and CBD has not been designated as a health product. Please read product descriptions to identify the best products that might works for you and your situation. There is also a wealth of research available online.

DOES CBD HELP ANXIETY?

Over the last decade, an increasing number of people have started using CBD oil for anxiety and stress relief. With the passage of the 2018 farm bill in the US and the full legalization of industrial hemp, CBD is set to become a nation-wide home remedy for anxiety, depression, and many other debilitating conditions. Even though research is still in the early stages in establishing whether hemp oil, cannabis oil or other marijuana products represent a viable treatment for anxiety, depression, and stress, people who’ve used them claim an overall decrease in symptoms.

DOES CBD HELP WITH CHRONIC PAIN?

CBD Oil is often used by people with chronic pain. CBD oil may reduce pain, inflammation, and overall discomfort related to a variety of health conditions. Researchers believe CBD interacts with the receptors in your brain and immune system. These receptors are tiny proteins which are attached to your cells and receive chemical signals from different stimuli and help your cells respond, thus creating anti-inflammatory and painkilling effects that can help with pain management. This means CBD benefits for people with chronic pain. These receptors in the human body form part of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) that receives and translates signals it receives from cannabinoids in the body. The body produces some cannabinoids on its own, which are called endocannabinoids. The ECS helps regulate functions such as sleep, immune-system responses, and pain.

Oko’s Nature LLC does not make any specific health claims about our products. As with any supplement, please consult your physician before use.

HOW DOES CBD AFFECT THE BODY?

The human body contains receptors called CB1 and CB2. Scientists believe that these receptors are linked to several functions, including appetite, emotions, mood, coordination, movement, and pain. CB1 is found in the brain, while CB2 receptors are in the immune system. Accordingly, cannabinoids like CBD oil are compounds that naturally interact with those receptors in the body, activating them in the process. Therefore, the ingestion of CBD can improve the endocannabinoid function of the body.

WILL I GET HIGH FROM CBD? IS IT PSYCHOACTIVE?

No. All of the hemp extract products sold on this website are made from industrial hemp with THC levels below 0.3%. There is no intoxicating effect from taking these products. Hemp oil in general contains CBD, the non-psychoactive compounds of the cannabis plant. Hemp oil does not have the psychoactive qualities found in THC. While using CBD, you can maintain a clear mind and active lifestyle.

HOW MUCH CBD DO I NEED? WHAT'S THE RIGHT DOSAGE?

Everybody is different, and the CBD intake will depend on your metabolism and how fast it can process the CBD in your system. Depending on your needs there are different products we can provide to help you find relief. The technique is to figure out the right dose that’s enough for your body to respond. It’s always best to start with a low dose and add more if needed. Example: You can begin by taking about 5mg of CBD daily. Stick with that dose for about a week before you start increasing it. You do this every week until you finally figure out the right dosage.

See our Dosing Suggestions for more assistance.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I TAKE A HIGH DOSAGE OF CBD?

For CBD to become toxic to the system, someone would need to ingest over 20,000 mg of CBD all at once, which would be an extremely out of the ordinary thing to do. The average person that weighs 180lbs may only need 25mg of CBD daily. In general CBD is not toxic and has very few side-effects. As with any supplement it is best to consume in moderation.

If you feel you need assistance please contact emergency medical assistance.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT METHODS TO USE CBD?

Sublingual CBD can be administered sublingually, meaning under the tongue. This method is known to be faster acting than others, as the cannabinoid is absorbed into the bloodstream via the mucosal membrane inside the mouth.

Ingesting CBD is one of the stronger consumption methods, as the cannabinoid is metabolized by the liver. This method increases CBD’s bioaccessibility. CBD capsules can come in the form of a soft gel or a pill. It is infused with the same kind of CBD you see in a tincture. CBD Edibles and Gummies are another great way to ingest CBD and they taste delicious, you can them anywhere with you and consume one whenever you see fit. A considerable benefit to CBD edibles is that, like capsules, you don’t have to mess around trying to figure out the right dose. They are packaged pre-dosed.

Topical CBD oil is often added to lotions and creams, which are applied to the skin. Some products are transdermal, meaning the CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream when rubbed into the skin.

Inhalation CBD oil can be vaporized and inhaled, which is the fastest method of consumption. Oko’s Nature does not sell vaping or smoking related products.

WHAT IS THE BEST METHOD OF USE?

This depends on preferred method of usage and need of relief. Please have a look through our blog and various product pages to determine which product may be most suitable for you and your needs. We offer different brands of CBD oils which are consumed by placing droplets below the tongue, and we also offer CBD capsules, CBD gummies, CBD beverage enhancers that can be taken orally, or creams and locations that are applied topically.

WHAT IS THE SHELF-LIFE OF CBD?

For the best shelf life please store in a cool dark area away from direct sunlight, with low humidity. This will help to preserve the properties of the hemp extract. If properly stored some CBD products may have up to a 1-year shelf life. Please also check for expiration dates on all products.

Please be advised temperatures above 90-degrees could cause gummies and other edibles to melt. Please do not leave in a mailbox or in direct sunlight for more than 15 minutes.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP AND MARIJUANA?

Hemp is not marijuana and it will not get you ‘high.’ Hemp, or industrial hemp, is a commonly used term for cannabis sativa plant strains which contain very low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and are commonly used for its fiber and seeds. Typically, industrial hemp is very fibrous with long strong stalks and few flowering buds. Marijuana plants are typically smaller, bushier, and full of flowering buds. Marijuana has a high amount of THC and a very low amount of CBD. Hemp, on the other hand, naturally has higher amounts of CBD (in most instances) and only trace amounts of THC. Hemp is also commonly used for agricultural needs such as food products, fiber, rope, paper, oils and even natural plastic alternatives. Whereas, marijuana is usually used both recreationally and medicinally.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FULL SPECTRUM, BROAD SPECTRUM, CBD ISOLATE?

Most of the CBD on the market will be either full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, or CBD isolates.

Full-spectrum contains all phytochemicals naturally found in the plant, including CBD, trace cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. Full-spectrum extracts from hemp also come have the low THC content of 0.3% or below.

Broad-spectrum CBD is a mix between full-spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. It contains the entire spectrum of cannabinoids EXCEPT for the THC.

CBD isolate is the purest form of the hemp plant and normally is sold in power form. There are no other cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids – just good old CBD, so there is no “entourage effect”.

Visit our World of CBD blog for more detailed information.

WHY DO I NOT FEEL THE DESIRED EFFECT?

The first thing to remember is CBD is not THC and does not provide any psychoactive effects. The relaxing effect of CBD depends on many factors, including the amount consumed, the rate at which it is consumed, your body mass, and your metabolism. Feel free to try other products on our website in search of that desired effect.

WILL CBD SHOW UP ON A DRUG TEST?

It depends. All CBD products sold on this site contain zero or less than 0.3 of THC. Some drug tests can’t differentiate among cannabinoids. CBD is from plants (hemp) in the cannabis family. Therefore, we cannot guarantee CBD will not show up. If you expect to take a drug test, we recommend not taking any CBD products. It is possible that the trace THC content may show up on various drug screenings.

Oko’s Nature LLC does not guarantee that you will or will not pass a drug screen after consuming our products.

Yes, all products sold on this website have been third-party lab tested. You can find lab reports on each product page.
